The National Solar Tour, described by organizers as “the largest grassroots solar and sustainable living event in the nation,” will invite visitors the Alfred University campus, both in-person and virtually, to learn about a student-led project aimed at promoting sustainability.

Alfred University hosted the fall meeting of the Association of American Ceramic Component Manufacturers (AACCM) on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 13-14. Approximately 20 AACCM members attended the event, which included presentations by several facility from Alfred University’s Inamori School of Engineering, and tours of the Inamori School’s McMahon Engineering building and local ceramics manufacturing businesses.

Joseph Scheer and Andrew Deutsch, professors of Printmaking and Sound Design, Visual Arts respectively, have curated the exhibit “John Wood: The System is Alive,” which will open Oct. 13 at the Burchfield Penny Art Center, In Buffalo.

“Among Us: Animal Life in Video Work,” an exhibition at the Time Space Interface/Harland Snodgrass Gallery in Alfred University’s Harder Hall, will be on view Oct. 9-28. The exhibition offers a cross-section of the history of video art of the last quarter-century or so by esteemed and emerging practitioners from Turkey which demonstrates a compelling engagement with issues of animal life, in Turkey and beyond.
